About Piano

Regulation

The piano action is the marvellous mechanism between your fingertips and sound that emerges from the piano. When it is adjusted properly, the keys "feel" right and the sound of the piano resppnds to your musical thought. Dozens of parts, made of wood, leather and felt, go into each assembly between the key you play and the hammer that strikes the string, duplicated for each of the 88 keys of the piano. Like any complex mechanism, the settings that will give the best performance will drift over time and need to be periodically checked over and adjusted.

About Piano Reconditioning - Professional Piano Service, Bellingham, Whatcom & Skagit Counties

Reconditioning

Pianos are designed to last for decades of musical service, but all too often they do not get the periodic service and adjustment they need beyond just tuning. Worn or out of alignment parts, and friction built up over many years make the piano far less responsive than it could be, and the tone deteriorates. Reconditioning is a unique service designed to restore the piano to its best tone and playability by bringing the action, the internal mechanism of the piano, back to its best possible condition, without the considerable expense of replacing parts.
